The Lansdowne Club gives little outward sign to passers-by of its distinguished past. However, this noble Mayfair club is not merely a haven of civilised calm, but an architectural gem, rich in nearly 250 years of history.  Built in 1763, Lansdowne House became a social club in 1935. Unlike its contemporaries, the Lansdowne Club has admitted men and women with equal social status since its doors opened.  The Club's interior design is a mixture of Art Deco and Georgian and underwent extensive renovation in 2000.

Standing in the Home Park of Windsor Castle, the gardens at Frogmore House have been an enduring attraction for monarchs and their families since the house was purchased by Queen Charlotte in 1790. The name derives from the preponderance of frogs which have always lived in the low-lying and marshy area near the River Thames. The estate is the site of three burial places of the British Royal Family: the Royal Mausoleum containing the tombs of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert; the Duchess of Kent's Mausoleum, burial place of Queen Victoria's mother; and the Royal Burial Ground.  The house is open in August for private tours.

First mentioned in the 10th Century as Afintun, Avington originally belonged to the Cathedral of Winchester until King Henry VIII granted the estate to Edmund Clerke.  Avington went on to host both Charles II and George IV in its amazingly decorated rooms. The estate was eventually sold to Lt. Col and Mrs Hickson in 1951 and is now in trust with their family.

Fulham Palace, the historic house and garden of the Bishop of London since 704, is now open to all to discover over 1300 years of British history in the heart of London.  With archaeological evidence of Neolithic, Iron Age and Roman settlers and the foundations of a medieval palace under the East Lawn, the present site of Fulham Palace is steeped in history.  The building is a mixture of styles and periods, and what survives is a Tudor manor house with Georgian additions and a Victorian chapel.
The grounds of Fulham Palace have always served a variety of purposes; providing food for the household, a beautiful garden for relaxation and space, for both recreation and hospitality. Celebrated garden parties began with Mrs Tait in the 1860s. Bishop Creighton (1843-1901) exhausted his guests by taking them for fast walks around the garden. Bishop Winnington-Ingram (retired 1939) had a grass tennis court on the south west side of the lawn. Once enclosed by the longest moat in England, the garden retains 13 of the original 36 acres. The surviving layout is mainly 19th century with an earlier Walled Garden and some 18th century landscaping.  The garden includes many rare trees, including the ancient evergreen oak (Quercus ilex) located on the south side of the main lawn. It is estimated to be approximately 500 years old and is a Great Tree of London.
